The year’s longest night is nigh! Join us at the Ann Hoover Dam picnic area at the Watershed Center this Friday to mark the Winter Solstice and bring in the light for the year ahead with music, poetry and a little pageantry, too.
Bring food and drink to share. And, if you like, some words or poetry that look toward the coming year for reading ’round the flames. Dress warmly, and gather at the fire at 4:00 pm. Carpool if possible and if the parking lot is full, please park on the straight portions of Plank Road only. Don’t park anywhere along the curve lest you celebrate the solstice with a parking ticket!
Please also leave pets at home for this one and remember to bring a flashlight and sturdy footwear—forest paths can be dark and slippery while they await the sun!
